As I mentioned in a note to the Drexel community last week, the tax reform bill in Congress will seriously harm the nation’s colleges and universities. Bush administration, did an excellent job of detailing the widespread damage this bill will cause higher education in this op-ed in The Chronicle of Education.
It is troubling reading. For those who have not been following the issue, the American Council on Education explains what is in the bill and provides a helpful Q&A.
And just yesterday Elisabeth Van Bockstaele, our Dean of the Graduate College and Dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies, sent a note to graduate students underscoring that this is a stressful time for them and that we are actively engaged in trying to mitigate the problem.
